About three years ago my father passed away and I inherited a number of his old hand and power tools and a solid table saw. After moving it all into my garage I noticed that there was still some grease and sawdust on his tools. It reminded me of my childhood, growing up and admiring how it seemed like he could fix or build anything. Of all the lessons he taught me, one stuck in my head more than anything else. If you can do it yourself, do it. So I did.
I built my first piece of furniture three years ago for my wife. She really wanted some benches for our backyard so I fired up the table saw, powered up the drill, measured at least hundred times and made my first cuts. What I ended up with were a couple of ugly, uneven but rock solid benches. They weren't the prettiest pieces, but, I made them.
Since then, with the support of my wife, my family and friends, I've honed my skills, learned from others, learned from mistakes and slowly but surely discovered a craft that I love. I've been commissioned to make everything from dining tables to coasters but all with a vision in mind. Each piece that I make is specific to a customer's needs. I want them to cherish what I created and I work at it until they are completely satisfied with my efforts.
